Programme Manager

Tandemic is a social innovation lab. We are here to create new and better approaches to solving tough social problems in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia. We “build to think” — our success doesn’t come through producing a report that sits in someone’s desk but by delivering new products, services, and even business models that have a meaningful impact on improving peoples’ lives.

The organisations we work with span international development agencies, social enterprises, government, and private businesses such as UNDP, MaGIC, Agensi Inovasi Malaysia, Novo Nordisk, Sime Darby, and UNICEF.

What is it like to work at Tandemic? There is a tremendous diversity of projects and people but we are all passionate about social change. We are both thinkers and doers. We will push you to better yourself. Learning is constant and expectations are high. You will need to invest time and energy in becoming better at what you do and in building your expertise.

The role:

Programme Manager

The contribution:

Tandemic is looking for a Programme Manager who will take the lead on social change projects and make them greater and more impactful than we ever imagined them through disciplined execution, teamwork, partnerships, and creative problem solving. The Programme Manager plays a leadership role in a team but has the detail orientation to look closely at all the nuts and bolts of a project and make sure it’s rolling out effectively. As a Programme Manager, you’ll be liaising with people across the organisation, pitching to potential partners, and making sure the work we put out is world-class.

Once you’re here, you might:

  • Plan out projects, including detailed tasks and timelines
  • Manage a team of people and work alongside them to deliver our work in a coordinated way and according to timeline
  • Benchmark our work against that of leading organisations globally to make sure we’re delivering work that’s world-class
  • Design new projects and find creative ways of growing existing ones through partnerships and new approaches
  • Liaise with clients and partners to keep them updated on our progress and deepen our relationship with them for future collaborations

You are someone who is:

  • Deeply committed to social change
  • A strong manager who cares deeply for your team, is respected by the people you work with, and helps them thrive through thick and thin
  • Detail-oriented and able to bring clarity to complex and messy projects
  • Practical, hands-on, and committed to making sure the job gets done
  • Quick at learning new things and always looking to improve themselves
  • A great communicator who is able to understand the bigger, unstated needs of partners and clients
